High School
Schools:
Limestone District School Board has 12 secondary (high schools). All of our schools accept international students. However, only two of these schools – Bayridge Secondary and Loyalist Collegiate - offer English as a Second Language (ESL).
Programs:
International students attend class with regular Canadian students. For those who require help with the English language, there are special classes in English and other subjects to help develop their English competency – speaking, writing and comprehension.
As our schools are semestered, students enter our high schools in September (start of first semester) or February (start of second semester).
Many of our students graduate from our schools and go on to study in such well recognized universities and colleges in Canada and the United States.
Activities:
All high schools offer international students the opportunity to participate with Canadian students in sports, clubs, music or drama. Students who do join such activities, learn English faster as they mix with native English speakers.
